Nellie was the daughter of William and Eleanore Alford. She was born Dec 6, 1882 st Strawberry Point, Iowa. In 1890 the family moved to Boyd County, Nebr.

She was married to Robert Allen in Creighton, Neb. in 1903. In 1925 they moved to Draper, where they spent their life farming until 1948, when they retires to Presho.

She was preceded in death by one son Alvin.

Survivors included five children Mrs. Albert Lauritsen, Mrs. Joseph Knutson, Mrs. Robert Allen, Dale Allen and Mrs. Gladys Hulce; fourteen grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
