LINN, James, age 96, was born on February 15, 1919. in Washington, Pennsylvania to Italian immigrants Dominick and Rosaline Linn. He was the last living sibling out of 17.

He worked at Bower Roller Bearing Company for 32 years, and was a member of the Harper Woods Auxiliary Police Department from 1950-1980. He also owned Manor Lounge in Grosse Pointe Farms for a number of years as well.

Jim passed peacefully in his sleep on July 29th. Jim was a devoted husband to the love of his life, the late Victoria (Nahas) Linn. Preceded in death by his son James D. Linn Jr., survived by step-sons John Peters (Patricia) and Bill Peters (Janet). Jim, affectionately known as "Grandpa Jim", taught his 6 grandsons to fish and shared the love of water. You would commonly find him fiddling in his tool shed working on special projects. He was active not only with his grandchildren and their spouses but his 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well. Memories of playing cards, recitals, birthdays and memorable visits. Grandpa had an infectious smile and wit about him. Fond memories of him in his favorite recliner watching the soaps while sneaking marshmallow pinwheels that he savored so sweetly. Stories of the good old days and bragging about grandchildren were things he was so proud of and enjoyed most. He has left a lasting impression on all of our hearts. Death leaves an emptiness that no other can fill, but the love and memories left behind will forever be cherished still.
