George R. Pollock, 78, of 827 Harvey, died Monday at 6:45 p.m. at Ottumwa Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years. An employe of Hall-Ekfelt Furniture Co. for 40 years, he retired Oct. 19, 1958.
He was the son of Walter and Ella Pollock, born in Douds, Sept. 3, 1890, and had lived in Ottumwa since 1919. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Knights of Pythias.
He married Zula Hull Sept. 3, 1914, in Keosauqua. Survivors include his widow; one son, Clarence Pollock of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Fern Bradley of Ottumwa and Ellen Ann Fackler of Clinton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Cora Slutts of Ottumwa.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles E. Smith of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
