Obituary From Ottumwa Daily Courier, Thursday, December 3, 1953, Page 24:

Mrs. Ida B. Roby, 81, of 228 South Moore street, died at 11:30 a.m. today at the Iowa Soldier's home at Marshalltown where she had been a patient since October 30.

Born June 11, 1882 [sic], at Centerville, she was the daughter of Rev. William E. and Nancy Ann Stickler. She was married at Centerville, September 26, 1896, to Isaac O. Roby, who preceded her in death.

She had lived in Ottumwa since 1919, and was a member of the Davis Street Christian church and of the Women's Relief corps here.

Surviving are one son, Glenn Roby of Ottumwa, one step-daughter, Mrs. Maude Tozer of Ottumwa, and several grandchildren. She was the last member of a family of 13 children. The body will arrive late today at the Johnson funeral chapel, where funeral arrangements are pending.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida B. Roby, 81, of 228 South Moore street, who died at the Iowa Soldiers home, Marshalltown, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel Monday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. William Gahm, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, and the Rev. LaVerne Morris, pastor of the Davis Street Christian church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Walter, LaVerne, Oscar, Arlo, Jack and Paul Covert.
