Michael Cheek (Mike) of Terrell, had his birthday into Heaven on July 30, 2015 in Dallas surrounded by his family. Mike was born Dec. 20, 1954 in Richmond, CA to Al and Euna (Dickerson) Cheek.

He was preceded in death by his father, Al, and his son, Andy Cheek. He was a very active member of the Terrell Lion’s Club having been elected the secretary for the past 18 years. He was also a mason with McAlester, OK lodge. Mike was a member of College Mound United Methodist Church and served also as a member of the College Mound VFD. His life of service to others was always important to Mike, however his family came before everything. He was a devoted father to his children and he was very active in all aspects of their lives especially sports. He was their coach, their biggest supporter and he also made sure to lead by example in being sportsmanlike as well competitive. He and his beloved wife, Georgia, also spent many wonderful times making precious memories together traveling, visiting other family and friends and they were always accompanied by their cherished dog, Abby Wayne. He loved to fish and work in his garden for relaxation and his smile will be missed greatly by all who knew him. A man of great character whose steadfast loyalty was a hallmark of all his relationships, Mike’s legacy will continue in the lives of all he was a part of, both directly and indirectly, with his selfless service and love for all.

Funeral service will be at 10:00am, Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with interment to follow at College Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Sunday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home.
