A mass of resurrection was held Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m., in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Tony Vilano officiating. Dorothy Weinheimer was the organist, and Michele Stehling, the vocalist.
Interment followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
A vigil service, conducted by Deacon Louis Loth, was held Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home, where the body lay in state prior to the funeral.
Mrs. Stehling was born Dec. 16, 1914, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Alexander Arhelger and Louise Ludwig Arhelger. She married Hilmar C. Stehling on Nov. 30, 1931, in St. Mary's Catholic Church and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stehling is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Travis Weidenfeller of Fredericksburg, three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Nora, Mrs. Walter Moellendorf of Fredericksburg, and Margaret Ferguson and her husband, Cecil, of Lubbock, and a sister-in-law, Ruby, Mrs. Alex Arhelger Jr. of Fredericksburg.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stehling was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Arhelger and Alex Arhelger Jr.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Josephs Society or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Darryl Weidenfeller, Kayla Weidenfeller, Dean Weidenfeller, Victor Pahl, Duane Weidenfeller and John Edwards.
