Paul Francis Steiner of Hartford passed away on Sunday, July 26 at the age of 78 years. He was born on February 17, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Henry and Rose Anna (nee Heimerl) Steiner. He married his wife, Janet (nee Lackas) at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Hartford, WI on September 28, 1968.

Paul and Janet owned and operated Steiner Resort on Little Cedar Lake for 30 years. They took over the business from his father. In his retirement, Paul kept busy with various jobs in the community. Many people will remember him as the bartender at Hartford Country Club. He also took great joy in watching Wisconsin sporting teams. Paul loved to tinker on old cars. His prize was a 1951 Ford pick-up.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet, of 46 years, and his dearest son, Christopher (Angy) Steiner and his grandchildren Joshua, Cyle, and Aleya. Dear brother-in-law of Marlene Schwartz and Mary (Bill) LaBuwi. Also survived by his brother-in-law, Ferrel Niles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Joan Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, August 3, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Lawrence, WI, from 9-10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m. Fr. Davies Ebaffary will officiate. Interment St. Mary’s Church Cemetery in Richfield. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home – Hartford is serving the family.
