George Walter Mumford passed away early Wednesday, July 29, 2015 with his family at his side.
George, who was an excellent athlete for the Millsboro Blue Devils (Class of 1955), excelled in all things; but nothing was he better at then the love he gave his family. His passion was golf where he was a member and champion at Sussex Pines Country Club in Georgetown for many years.
He has left behind, to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia; two sons, Seth and Tim; three step-children, Tom, Nadean and Kelly; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, with visitation after 12:00pm. Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Nanticoke Health Services Foundation, 121 S. Front Street, Seaford, Del, 19973. Please add "The Campaign for Nanticoke - George Mumford" in the memo line.
