A veteran of the U.S. Army, Marcus attended Shaw University (Raleigh, NC) and retired from the Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC). He was also a self-employed barber for 58 years and a faithful member of Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee and an usher.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Leila Hunt, parents, Prince Albert and Mattie Belle Hunt, 8 siblings, and son-in-law, Lawrence Johnson.
Survived by his wife of 35 years, Viola Hunt; daughter, Dorothy M. Johnson; stepchildren, Sophia L. English and Joseph D. (Chyrell) English; brother Willie D. Hunt; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
