REISTERSTOWN, MD - CAROLYN LEE "PAT" ROWLAND, 66, of Reisterstown, Md., died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Stella Maris Hospice, Timonium. Md.
She was born July 25, 1944, in Hagerstown, Md., to the late William Franklin and Goldie Vasta Young Rowland. She was a a graduate of Williamsport High School. She also graduated from nursing school in 1965 from Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, Md. She was employed as a registered nurse with Stella Maris Hospice Timonium for 18 years until retiring in 2010. She was previously employed by Sinai Hospital in Baltimore for 25 years.
She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church, Randallstown, Md. She was a member of AGLOW International. In her later years at Stella Maris, she dedicated her nursing skills as a hospice nurse making her patients as comfortable through their final journey in life with dignity, love and compassion.
Survivors include: sister, Susan J. Gawle of Toledo, Ohio; sister, Judy A. Weinman of Silver Spring, Md.; sister, Jenny L. Waple of Fairplay, Md.; brother, Roy L. Rowland of Boonsboro, Md.; brother, Dale E. Rowland of Boonsboro, Md.; half sister, Helen M. Kirby of Williamsport; and half brother, William F. Rowland Jr. of Proctor, W. Va.
She was predeceased by one brother, Walter G. Rowland.
Graveside services will be held at Manor Cemetery, Tilghmanton, Md., on Saturday, March 25, 2011 at 11 am with the Rev. Brian H. Moore officiating.
