She was born on Dec.13, 1942 to the late Max E. Brooks and Martha (Horn) Griffin in New Castle.
Judy married David F. Leisure on Oct. 8, 1961 and they enjoyed 52 years together before he passed in January 2014. Judy was a 1961 graduate of Knightstown High School.
Judy was a loving wife, mom, Mamaw and Grammy. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grand babies. Judy belonged to GWRRA Chapter H-2. She and her husband loved to tour the countryside by motorcycle, visiting everywhere, but Alaska and Hawaii.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters Deborah J. (Paul) Butler and Cathy Shelton (Roy Pribble); grandchildren, Jessica L. (Daniel) Wyatt-Overman, Timothy A. (Marlene) Wyatt, Brittany D. (Travis) Butler-Thibeault; brothers, James E. (Betty) Griffin, Charles E. Griffin II; sisters, Christine I. (Maurice) Temples and Susan E. (Chris) Haywood; aunt, Vera Merchant; and great grand babies, Tanner, AJ, Carson, Bryce, Cooper, Abby, Lylah and one on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Judith was preceded in death by her step father Charles E. Griffin; son, Daryl F. Leisure; brother, Jerry Griffin; and grandparents, George and Myrtle Horn and Robert and Emma Brooks.
Services for Judith will be held Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown. Friends and family may visit Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Arlington with Pastor Bill Palmer presiding.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cancer Society. All care and arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown.
