Robert H. De'Vore, age 76, passed away April 28, 2015 at Manor Care Assisted Living Center in Tacoma, Washington. He was born in Tacoma on September 13, 1938 and was raised in and around surrounding areas. He attended Franklin Pierce High School in 1959. After that he enlisted in the US Air Force and was a Nuclear Weapons Specialist.
Bob was married to his loving and devoted wife Carolyn for 22 years. He was also an accomplished truck driver and instructor who, in 1977, was a Washington State driving champion and received an award for 4 million accident free miles in 1996.
We will always remember Bob as a charismatic soul who brought joy and a smile to everyone he met, and if you were a pretty girl you could expect a cheeky compliment. He was also a very deep soul who loved to express himself by writing beautiful poetry like that which is captured here in a poem he wrote a few years ago which truly summed up what he wanted out of his life.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I AM ROBERT H. DE'VORE, AND IT IS OBVIOUS THAT I AM STILL ALIVE, AND STILL IN MOST WAYS, SANE.
WHAT I TRULY WANT FROM LIFE?
NOTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I'VE WORKED FOR ALL MY LIFE.

1. TO BE HAPPY WITH MY LIFE AND MY WIFE. "I'VE DONE THAT"
2. I TRULY HOPE THAT I HAVE MADE MY WIFE HAPPY.
3. I HOPE THAT MY CHILDREN, BOTH NATURAL AND STEP, FIND REAL HAPPINESS, SOON.
4. I HOPE THAT I HAVE TAUGHT MY STUDENTS SOME LESSONS AND HABITS THAT WILL LAST THEM A LIFETIME.
5. I HOPE THAT SOMEONE HAS LEARNED AND ALL HAVE ENJOYED MY POETRY. I MEAN THESE THINGS FROM MY HEART.

I KNOW THAT THE LORD WILL HAVE A PLACE FOR ME TO GO, AND THERE TO WAIT FOR MY LOVING WIFE. THE LORD PROMISED WE WOULD BE TOGHETHER FOREVER WITH HIM.

THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING A PART OF MY MORTAL LIFE. I LOVE YOU ALL.

YOURS IN THE LORD
ROBERT H. DE'VORE

Bob is survived by his brother, Bill; sister-in-law, Kay, his daughters, Lou, Sheryl, Brooke, and Melody; his grandchildren, Dominica, Elijah, Kylie, and Alex; great-grandson, Nehemiah; and nieces and nephew.

There will be no public services, just a graveside memorial for family members.
