Doris Smith Donald - born April 10, 1920 in Mobile, AL and died January 14, 2009 at Springhill Medical Center.

Mrs. Donald is survived by a devoted son and daughter-in-law, Paul Roy Smith, Jr. and Myrtice Smith; grandsons, Paul Roy Smith, III, Scott Alan (Elizabeth) Smith, and Michael Joseph (Katie) Smith; great-grandchildren, Kailey Beth Smith and Scott Alan Smith, Jr.; sister, Gloria Brannon; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Doris was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bowen Chapter #275. She worked faithfully with the Young Peoples Department of Bethany Baptist Church for many years, hosting memorable social events with her husband, Paul Roy Smith, Sr. "Nuna" loved family get togethers, thanksgiving, Christmas, and birthdays. The light of her life and the center of her world were her grandsons, Paul, Scott, and Michael, and great-grandchildren, Kailey Beth and Scott Alan. She possessed a giving spirit and a loving heart. Our family wishes to thank the third floor nurses and support staff at Springhill Medical Center for their excellent care and concern. Heaven-sent care giving angels allowed her last four months to be spent in her home. Those "angels" are Diane Clarke, Freida Walker, Sandra Dixon, and Frenzetta Cheesboro. We'll all miss "Nuna" so very much, but she left this earth and is now in Heaven with her maker.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, January 19, 2009 from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Old Whistler Cemetery, Whistler, AL. Funeral arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606.
