POPE, Walter Age 88 of Brookville, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was a veteran of WWII having proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Lenoir. Walter worked for many years at Dayton Tire & Rubber and attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Dayton. He is survived by his sons: Keith (Vivian) Pope of Englewood, James (Mary) Pope of Toledo, daughters: Drinda (Mark) Hesselgesser of Englewood, Vickie (Bob) Bolen of Dayton, Carolyn (Mike) Hall of Huber Heights, Jeanie (Tim) Hudson of Cincinnati, sisters: Sandra (Clyde) Lewis and Joy (Jim) Kelley of KY, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Erma Jean (Wilburn) Pope, parents: Phillip and Amelia (Gee) Pope, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the First Church of the Nazarene (7031 N. Main St., Dayton) with Pastor Stanley Ward officiating. Interment will follow the service at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood). If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care at the Dayton VA Medical Center.
