Mr. Samuel T. Ferguson was born May 23, 1870 and departed this life Oct. 16, 1922, age 52 years, five months and six days. He was married to Miss D. O. Howard on June 6, 1896. To this union were born two children, Altie and Freddie. Altie died May 13, 1899. She was just 12 years old.
He was again married in 1905 to Miss Nettie Latham. To this union three children were born, James, Helen and Ora....He is survived by his wife, four children and many relatives and friends. The funeral services were held Oct. 17, at Mary's Chapel by Rev. W. B. Ralph, assisted by Rev. M. F. Savage. He was laid to rest in the cemetery by the church immediately after the funeral.

Note: The age of Altie Ferguson, and the date of her death would be incorrectly stated in the obituary of her father. At the time of the 1900 census, she was 1 year old, born Dec 1898. On January 17, 1901, her father purchased her coffin from Johnson Brothers Undertakers. She would have been just over 2 years old at the time of her death.)
