Mrs. Fred Nicolaus (sic), 84, of Reedsville, died Thursday evening at Toth
Nursing Home, Chilton, where she had resided 2-1/2 years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John-St. James Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Robert Wendland will officiate and
burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Nicolaus was born Feb. 2, 1883, at Cooperstown, daughter of the late
William and Ernestina Becker Engelbrecht. She was married to Fred Nicolaus
June 20, 1907. He died in 1946. Mrs. Nicolaus was a charter member of the
Ladies Aid Society of St. John-St. James Church.
Surviving her are a son, Dr. Herbert Nicolaus, of Lake Forest, Ill., a daughter,
Mrs. Elmer (Erma) Haese, of Rt. 2, Reedsville, four grandchildren and five great
grandchildren. Five brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Saturday until noon
Sunday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in
state until time of service.
