Graduating from high school in North Carolina, she was Captain of the women's basketball team and a Majorette for her school and community bands. She moved to Wilmington, NC with her family and worked at the military base during WWII, featured in their newspaper as a Post Posy. There she met Robert Ross, a Bluethenthal Field pilot who won her heart. They married at the end of the war and moved to his home in Southern California. In the early days she assisted with his grocery business and raised three girls, acting as Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout Leader, and chauffer to dance, swim and piano lessons. She enjoyed relaxing and party planning with her good friends in her Northridge neighborhood. In later life she discovered golf and became a winning member of the Porter Valley Country Club women's golf team. Robert was a private pilot and she completed air ground school and learned to land his plane in case of emergencies. They happily traveled around the US to visit family and play at many of the wonderful golf courses in the country. Everyone who entered her home was warmly welcomed and fed.

Annie is pre-deceased by her husband, Robert; her sister, Murel Babson; and her son-in-law, John Rodi. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Roper; her brother, BC Deans (Rosemary); her daughters, Cheryl Rodi, Linda Ross, and Judith Ross; grandchildren, Christy O'Bryan, Erin Ashford (Lindsey) and Brian Ashford (Dina); and great grandchildren, Jaden, Carly, Skylar, Isabella and Jaxson.
