Letty Ruth Blakley, 84, departed this earth on Saturday, July 18, 2015.

A native of Winder, she was born September 14, 1930, the daughter of the late Loyd Blakley and Darlene Reddish Blakley. She was the family matriarch with a strong discipline and kind spirit. Mrs. Blakley was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Willie “Jake” Blakley, Robert Reddish, Catherine Jackson, Emma Blakley, and Evie Polite.

Survivors include two brothers, Dan Blakley and John Henry Blakley; nine nieces, Gloria Penn, Marilyn Thomas, Deidre Blakley, Melinda Shealey, Bernice Henderson, Linda Reddish, Liz Reddish, Fannie Reddish, and Mattie Bell Reddish Davis; four nephews, Jimmy Jackson, Royce Jackson, Robert Polite, and Jerome Blakley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 22, at the New Hope A.M.E. Church in Hoschton with the Rev. James Lawson officiating. Interment was in the NHAME Church Cemetery.

Eberhart & Son Mortuary, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
