Rye Brook, NY - Vivian Eileen Shrewsbury Rogers, 86, passed away in her sleep at home on the morning of July 23, 2015, in Rye Brook, NY.
Born in Stone, KY, she grew up in Rhodell, WV and attended Shady Spring High School where she played in the band and sang in the Glee Club. She married and lived in Beckley, WVA, before moving to Ocala, FL, where she raised her two children. She later moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL and worked at DeFina Realty and PGA International as secretary and bookkeeper. She enjoyed music, dancing, the beach, and Bible Study.
Predeceased by her husband, John W. Rogers, and three siblings; Harald, Don, and Delrhea.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Suzanne Rogers Weiss from Greenwich, CT; and her son, John David Rogers and his wife, Charlotte, from Ocala, FL. She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren; Heather Boose Weiss, Michael David Weiss, Jonathan Scott Weiss, and Nathalie Christine Weiss, all from New York, NY.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home at 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 10:30am at Stanwich Congregational Church, 202 Taconic Road in Greenwich, CT, followed by burial at Middle Patent Rural Cemetery.
