He taught Chemistry, Astronomy and General Science at the Angola High School for 45 years. He was the Angola High School Tennis Coach for the boys and girls teams, coached boys basketball for the 7th and 8th grade at Angola Middle School for many years and was the Y-Club Advisor at the Angola High School.
He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Angola. He was also a member of the Angola Lions Club, Head of the Summer Youth programs for the Angola Parks Department for several years and was a member of the Indiana Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame.
He worked for the Steuben County Health Department and also painted homes, businesses and buildings in the summer time.
Tony was born on October 2, 1945 in San Leandro, California to Jimmy Taylor and Mary (Fry) Wright. He married Sue Tatum on June 25, 1989.
Surviving is his wife Sue Wright of Angola; his mother Mary Wright of Wabash; three daughters Julie (Jeff) Hirons of Hamilton, Trudy (Lance) Coler of Westfield and Mary Wright of Bloomington; two sisters Tonnie Ellet of Albion and Tammy (Mike) Plummer of Wabash; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Taylor Wright and his brother-in-law Ron Ellet.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Angola with Rev. Deborah Davis officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1-4 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola.
A private family burial will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola.
