Melissa Gale Martin, 56, of Evansville, IN. passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Melissa was born August 7, 1958 in Evansville, a daughter to George William Minton and the Delores Jean (Herron) Trent and step father William Ternt Sr. She was a 1976 graduate of Bosse High School and a very active member at the Pentecostal House of Prayer. Melissa enjoyed writing and singing gospel songs and would play them on the organ. She was a lover of the outdoors, flowers and animals. Melissa, a very giving person, loved her church and her family and was always putting others before herself.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas whom she married June 30, 2000, children Terry Baker II (Melissa), Laurie Shehorn (Justin), Krystal Belcher, Rebekah Markham (Bill), Jason Martin, Joshua Martin all of Evansville, nine grandchildren, siblings George Minton (Becky), Glenn Minton, Sissy Kessinger (Jim), Brenda Neale, Cheryle Grider and several loving nieces and nephews.
Melissa was preceded in death by her mother Delores Jean Herron Trent, Father George William Minton and one grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm, Friday, July 31, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Robert Duff officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
