Longtime Anchorage resident Wanda S. Lucas, 77, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Per her request no services will be held. Wanda was born on April 7, 1938, to Melvin Clay and Irene Marie (Cantrell) Lowrey in Springfield, Mo. She graduated high school there. In 1987, she moved to Anchorage, where she has resided ever since. Wanda was a wonderful mom, wife and grandma. She loved WWE, Westerns, watching TV and Las Vegas, Nev. "Mom always got the last word. She loved spending time with family and traveling," wrote the family. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Lowrey; and son-in-law, Russell King Jr. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jerry Lucas of Anchorage; daughters, Patti King and Irene Gaston, both of Anchorage; son, Jerry Lucas Jr. of Anchorage; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Pearl King and Christopher Kiana Jr. of Anchorage; grandson, Russell King III of Anchorage; granddaughter, Madilyn Lucas of Anchorage; great-grandchildren, Brenden, Kayli and Sean Kiana, all of Anchorage; sisters, Fleeda Powell of Springfield, Mo., and June Green of Rogersville, Mo; and brother, Harold Lowrey of Cottonwood, Ca.
