Mrs. John Peak died at her home near Brazilton April 21st of pneumonia, aged about 40 years. The funeral was preached at the house at 10 o'clock Monday morning by Rev. Miller, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Spangler Cemetery south of Brazilton. She leaves a husband and ten children to mourn her death. (newspaper clipping)

Mrs. John Peak was the former Ida Huntington, daughter of O. M. and Nancy Huntington. The Huntingtons were the parents of Will, Ida, Carl, Eva, Nellie and Georgie (died as a small boy - buried in Spangler Cemetery). The Huntington children were born in a settlement near what is now Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, and the family came to Girard in about 1877. The father Oliver Miller Huntington was a Vermont man, and the mother, Nancy Jane Barnes was a school teacher from Maine.
