Died.—At the family residence near Brazilton Sunday, March 13, 1898, Katy the wife of Henry Hess, of hemorrhage, aged 42 years.
Mrs. Hess was born in 1855. At the age of thirteen years she came to Kansas, and was married to Henry Hess in 1872. Ten children were born to them; four boys and six girls, all living. Mrs. Hess was the daughter of Ed. Alexander and a sister of James Alexander. She was a good and faithful woman beloved by her neighbors, and adored by her family. She was a zealous member of the Christian church. The funeral services were held at the family residence Monday afternoon, conducted by Elder D. M. Harris of Girard, and her remains were buried in the Spangler cemetery.
