She was born in Summersville on November 25, 1923 to the late Calvin and Frances Sawyer
She worked as a bookkeeper for Imperial Ice Cream in Huntington, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Charleston.
Virginia always saw the good side of things and her favorite remarks were: “That’s Top Notch, Okey Dokey and Pretty Good.”
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Claude Wise and brother Daniel Strait.
She is survived by her nephew, Danny Strait; great nieces, Lyn Halstead and Danielle Miller; great-great niece and nephews, Andrew Halstead, Davin Miller, Noah Miller and Elias Miller.
Service will be held at11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
