Stephan M. Harnos, 81, of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Leisure Village West, Manchester, NJ, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie, FL.
He was a truck driver for Ward Trucking in North Bergen, NJ, for 26 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Teamsters Local 560, Jersey City. He was also a member of the V.F.W., Leisure Village West, Manchester, NJ.
He was a communicant of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst. Born in Cliffside Park, NJ, he lived in Upper Saddle River, NJ before moving to Leisure Village in 1984.
He was predeceased by his wife, Stella M. Harnos, on October 16, 2001. Surviving are a son, Stephen M. Harnos of Issaquah, Washington; a daughter, Cindy DuHaime of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; and four grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Stephen O., and Madeline.
He is buried in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in New Jersey. The cemetery is located in Arneytown, (North Hanover Township, Burlington County) on Province line Road, which intersects Route 664 to the north of the cemetery and Routes 537 and 528 to the south. Its central location, 15 miles southeast of Trenton, NJ, makes it easily accessible from the New Jersey Turnpike, the Garden State Parkway and Interstates 195 and 295.
