Wayne, 84, of Bellevue, MI. died after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer's on July 26, 2015. He was born to Wesley and Retha (Coffey) Dunn.

Wayne graduated from Brighton High School in Illinois, and enlisted in the Navy, serving his country in the Korean War.

Wayne lived his life to be with the Lord. Many will remember him for the big smile he always wore on his face. Nothing was more important to Wayne than his family. His favorite times were spent surrounded by family members, the more the better.

As a grandparent he looked forward to special events such as Grandparent's Day, or any other event his grandkids participated in.

Wayne started his work career with Owens Illinois in their Alton Illinois glass manufacturing plant. He helped open OI's New Orleans plant and was transferred to the plant in Charlotte in 1967.

After leaving OI he worked for the Charlotte Chair Company where his type A personality led him to become the shift supervisor until the company closed. He finished his working career as a Realtor with Aand B Realty and Frontier Realty.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 45 years Ellen Dunn; sons Robert Thompson and Wes (Amy) Dunn; daughters Jane Thompson, Gina (Ross) Himebaugh, and Maria (John) Yeary, 20 Grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, brother Robert (Maxine) Dunn and his brother-in-law Virgil Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Retha Dunn; sister, Joyce Jones, special grandfather Ed Coffey and childhood friend Harold Eberland.

Funeral services were Friday, July 31, 2015 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI with Reverend Richard Wilford officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association or Feed The Children.

The family would like to thank The Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services for the outstanding care they provided to Wayne.

The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home.
