God brought Tonya Merritt of Ward into the world on Sunday, July I, 1973 at 7 p.m. and took her home on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 3:07 p.m. Heaven welcomed her to a homecoming with her Granny, Alpha Burnett and her grandfather, Aubrey (A.P.) Burnett, her aunt, "Mac" Maxine Washburn and her uncle Frankie Burnett, also her great-grandmother, Larnie Burnett.
She leaves behind her mother and father, Brenda and Gordon Higgins, her sisters, Beverly Elliott and Tina Higgins, her nieces, Jessica Wright and Faith Elliott; great-grandchild, Ja'Michael West. Tonya also leaves behind her extended family of Alexander Law Firm, and her aunt Fran Hill.
Tonya was a kind and loving person and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
