Julia was born in Nanimo, British Columbia Canada, 15 November 1900 tho Frans Oskar Isaaksson Peters and Rosa Mickelsdotter Paavola. The 2nd child and oldest girl in a family of 11 Children, 9 boys and 2 girls not counting one infant death. She was raised on her father's and grand father's homestead SE & SW 1/4-6-46-26-W4 in Falun,Alberta Canada. One of the pioneer families in the district and the first white settlers in the homestead district. As the oldest girl she took the brunt of the house work and child rearing, Quote Julia "dampened my desire to have a large family". Much of thier clothing was woolen from their sheep spun and knitted by the family members.
In 1926 the family sold the farm and moved to Red Lodge Montana, then back to Blairmore Canada in 1928. Julia stayed in Red Lodge montana with her mothers sister Selina Paavola Jackola and obtained employment working for a mortician.
Leaving Red Lodge she obtained employment as a maid/waitress as a boarding house in Butte Montana where she had gone with two of her brothers, Eino & ED. At the boarding house she met her husband Kaarle Alfred Tokoi.
Julia and Alfred lived in Morland Utah for a spell, the in Clear Creek, Utah in 1937/38, Standardville, Utah in 1940 then purchased a home in Scofield Utah. In 1946 during a 4th of july celebration in Clear Creek this house burnt down and had to be rebuilt as presently standing today.
Julie died of complications related to kidney cancer on 20 August 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah. survived by her daughter Helen Tokoi Morgan.
