He entered the US Navy serving for six years as a boatswains mate Third Class Petty Officer onboard USS PAWCATUCK (AO 108). Following his discharge he was employed as a bookkeeper for Conrail for 20 years.
He was survived by three sons, Steve, David (Tammy), and Michael; a daughter, Mrs. Jay (Billie Jo) Peets; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ray (Gayle) LaPrade.
