Marilyn Maxine Acker, 87, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at home.
She was born on April 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Wellington and Alice (Knisely) Mickle.
On Jan. 24, 1946, she married Lee Thomas Acker who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lee; brothers, Joe, Alan, Wayne; sisters, Ruth, Elaine, Helen, and Sarah.
She is survived by daughter, Leslie and husband Charles Blevins of Bedford; son James and wife Janet Acker of Manns Choice; and daughter Jody and husband Louis Mastrella of Lititz; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She also had several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was of the Protestant faith and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was hardworking, a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and had many wonderful friends.
Friends and family will be received at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home Wednesday July 2, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Thursday July 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Howard Sloan officiating, at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
