He was preceded in death by his parents. Curtis is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home; 2 sons Gary Brent Hoover and his wife Denean, and Curtis Wade Hoover, all of Grovespring, Mo; a granddaughter Reagean Brenea Hoover; a sister Martha Kimbro of Waynoka, Ok; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in Texas and then, as a child, moved with his family to Waynoka, Ok, where he attended high school. Around the age of 17 he left home and started life on his own. He made his home in California for several years before moving to Wright County, Mo, in 1971, after marrying his wife. For the last several years, he and Bonnie owned and operated their own dairy farm. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corps from May 23, 1952 until May 22, 1954.
Curtis had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. He loved starting each day at the local coffee shop visiting with his friends and hearing the latest town news. He was a very friendly man who never met a stranger, and was quite good at trading and swapping. He enjoyed the hard work that farming requires and took good care of his home and his land. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
