MARY JIM ABNEY MCCANN

LAFAYETTE, AL — Mrs. Mary Jim Abney McCann, 78, of LaFayette went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, 18 Oct 2005 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. (CDT) Saturday, 22 Oct 2005 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Tiller Crossroads, Chambers County, AL with Revs Jackie Prickett and Robert Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. McCann is survived by her dear friend, Lewis Heath of LaFayette, AL; two children, Charles McCann of Opelika, AL and Faye Sims, also of Opelika, AL; five sisters, Darlene Veazey of Phoenix, AZ, Dorothy Sutton of Glendale, AZ, Doris Critchett of Kingman, AZ, Joyce Denton of Lanett, AL and Annie Laura Blanks, also of Lanett, AL; three brothers, Bill Abney of Castleberry, FL, Ray Abney of DeBary, FL and George Abney of New Smyrna, FL; three grandchildren, Dewayne (Pam) McCann, Brent McCann and Jeremy Sims; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew McCann, Dylan McCann and Trystin McCann.

Mrs. McCann was born 12 Mar 1927 in Chambers County, AL. She was retired from Russell Corporation and later was the hostess for Hardee's in LaFayette, Dadeville and Opelika. Mrs. McCann was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Friday, 22 Oct 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. (CDT) at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette, AL.
