Cynthia C. Long of Geneva passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 after a brief illness. She was 53. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Mt. Zion Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Boroughs officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Cynthia was born in Bonita Springs, Fla. on October 5, 1961 to the late Frank Hitchcock and Betty Jo Rawson Hitchcock. She worked at Clinton Mills for more than twenty-years. After the mill’s closing, Cynthia worked as a caregiver in the Geneva area for many years. She attended Mt. Zion Independent Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her two brothers, Johnnie Hitchcock and Dale Hitchcock.
She is survived by her husband, Huey P. Long; daughter, Amy Long Norman (Keven); son, Clayton Long; three grandchildren, Hunter Long, Hanna Long and Tyler Long, all of Geneva; step-mother, Janie Hitchcock of Center Hill, Fla.; two brothers, Jason Hitchcock (Lisa) of Midland City, Ala. and Justin Hitchcock of Center Hill, Fla.; and a special friend, Tammy Blankenship of Bonifay, Fla.
