Michael Warren Hester, 59, of Needham, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his residence.

He was born August 26, 1955, in Indianapolis, the son of Richard and Josephine (Nickels) Hester.

Michael is survived by his mother of Franklin; daughters, Emily Hester, Erica Schutt and husband, Chris, and Erin Hardebeck, all of Needham; grandchildren, Jace Hardebeck, Reis Hardebeck, Carter Schutt, Malik Schutt and Ripley Schutt; and long-time friends, Howard Miller of Shelbyville, Gary Law of Boggstown and Mary Jo Spurgin of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Michael graduated from Triton Central High School in 1973.

He was formerly an electrician for AmTrak.

Michael enjoyed fishing and watching drag races. He was a fan of Purdue Boilermakers and the Chicago Bears.

He had a good sense of humor.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
