Darrell K. Lee, 69 of Bayles Lake, Loda died at 12:59 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the funeral home.
Darrell was born August 1, 1945 in Urbana the son of Kenneth V. and Mary E. Johnson Lee. He married Katherine Kirk on November 28, 1970 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Thomasboro. She survives.
Along with his wife, Kathy, he is survived by two sons, Joe (Susan Kehrer) Lee of Paxton, Kenny (Debbie Lamb) Lee of Watseka and a brother Bill (Cyndi Jensen) Lee of Urbana. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Darrell graduated from Paxton High School in 1963. For many years he worked with his dad in the filling-station business and later was owner and operator of Lee’s Co-op, Paxton. He was employed by Baltimore Air Coil, Paxton and Central Soya of Gibson City retiring in 2005.
Darrell lived in Paxton until 2003 when he and his wife moved to Bayles Lake, Loda. He was a member of the Rantoul Moose Lodge No 1496, the Paxton Masonic Lodge #416 A.F. & A.M. and the Loda Sportsmans Club. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing cards, Cushman Scooters and antique cars. He always enjoyed PBL football and if he wasn’t able to attend the game he would listen to the game on the radio.
