Arthur C. Sharp Jr. , age 63, passed away unexpectedly on July 24th, 2015. He was born on November 6th, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio.

He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. In 1970, while serving with the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines in Vietnam, he was awarded The Purple Heart. He lived by honor, loyalty, love and compassion. Through example, he taught his children hard work, honesty, determination and kindness are principles to live by.

He was a loving husband, father, "Poppy" and friend. He loved with his whole heart by always placing his family, friends and others first. Art was an avid hunter and looked forward to deer hunting season each year. He enjoyed riding his HD motorcycle, playing arcade games and all things that involved spending time with his family. He felt everyday should be a family day. His profession as an electrician brought him pride and joy. He thoroughly enjoyed his employment with Ohio Electric Services, whom he worked for at the time of his death.

Art was preceded in death by his father Arthur C. Sharp, Sr., stepfather Dale Brandenburg and sisters Stella Moffitt, Arttie Sue Sharp and Gloria Sharp.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Kimberlie (Lowman) Sharp, son Paul Arthur Sharp, daughters Trisha (Mark) Ponichtera and Mollie (Erick) Hamby and his beloved grandchildren Morgan, Erin and Colton Hamby and Ava and Aidan Ponichtera. His mother Pauline Brandenburg, sister Martha Watkins and brother Jerry (Kellie) Sharp. He will be deeply missed by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Patricia Lowman and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charmaine and Chip DeBrosse. He was loved deeply by numerous nieces and nephews.

A special Thank You to Art's caregivers at Miami Valley Hospital Heart and Vascular ICU for their extraordinary care and compassion. And, to the Hospice Angels who cared for Art in his final hours.
