James Robert Andrews, 70, of Carnegie passed away Saturday, July, 25, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Carnegie Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Carnegie Cemetery.

Robert was born on October 29, 1944 in Cuthbert the son of the late Dorsey Andrews and Mary Moore Andrews. He received a BS degree from VSU, and a MED degree at Ga State. He was retired from Georgia Department of Education with 34 years. He enjoyed serving as an EMT for Randolph County for 40 years, and also volunteering with Randolph County Fire and Rescue. During this time, he served as Deputy Director for EMS. During his retirement he promoted gospel concerts around the area and assisted with funerals at Lunsford Funeral Home, while also operating the family farm. He was a member of Carnegie Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Jane Andrews.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Graham Andrews of Carnegie.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at Lunsford Funeral Home.
