Millersburg; ;Funeral services for Mae Wyant 88, were held at 1 pm Saturday, Jan 16 at the Community Church, rural Millersburg, with Pastor Rob Houts officiating. Mrs Wyant died Jan 14, 1982 at the English Valley Care Center, North English, where she had resided nine years. Organist Jeane Grimm, accompanied the congregation singing "In the Garden" Casketbearers were Kevin and Daryl Grimm, Dean Humphrey, Michael Sauter and Gary Worrall all of Deep River, and Marvin Humphrey of Millersburg, with the burial in the Community Cemetery. Coral Mae Wyant was born Nov 16, 1893 in rural Keswick the daughter of Jacob and Ellen Schubert Humphrey. She attended Buckeye and Dayton center schools and later attended the Normal Training school at Cedar Falls, not the University of Northern Iowa. Her marriage to Alfred Wyant took place Aug 2, 1916 in Cedar Rapids. With the exception of a few years they lived in Millersburg, they lived on a farm in Dayton township. Mrs Wyant was a member of the Community Church and for many years workd and was a cook at the East Iowa Bible Camp along with her late husband who was one of the founders of the camp. Survivors include four children: Helan Horras, Williamsburg; Arland Wyant of South English, Gerald Wyant of Deep River, and Marilyn Gorsch of Deep River: 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and a special friend, Mrs. Elsie Ochs, Wellman who lived in the Humphreys home for a time. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; by a grandson and great grandson; a daughter in law June Wyant; brothers John, Perry, Steve, and Walter Humphrey; and sister Ethel (Mrs. Merl) Wilhite. Powell funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
