Born April 20, 1947 in Newnan, Mr. Bishop was the son of the late Elmer Bishop and Doris Ivery Atwood. He retired from Crayex Corporation in McDonough, was Pentecostal by faith, and had lived in Griffin since 1974.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Bishop of Griffin; daughters and son and sons in-law, Tammy and Tracy Pointer of Griffin and Paula and Robert Burgett of Fayetteville; a brother, Benny and Debbie Bishop of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Justin Holt, Jacob and Tori Pointer, Jessica Holt, Angelica Pointer, Breanna Burgett, Bryce Burgett, Chad and Kristin Farr, and Joshua Farr; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Lavonne Pointer and Layla Farr; and special friends, Debbie Huffman, Jeanette McLendon, and Jim McLendon. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by a brother, John Robert Bishop.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, at the graveside in Westwood Gardens in Griffin, with Pastor Donnie Skidmore officiating.
