Maj. Bruce C. Knox

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — Maj. Bruce Chapman Knox (U.S. Air Force, retired), born Oct. 19, 1934, in Lexington, Mass., passed away in Harker Heights on June 18, 2015, after an extended illness.

Maj. Knox served in both the Navy and the Air Force as a pilot. He saw service during the Vietnam War on several tours of duty. After retiring from the military with the rank of Major, he was a longtime employee of Met Life Insurance, from which he also retired. Maj. Knox was a longtime elected selectman from the town of Auburn, N.H. Several years ago, he retired to Georgetown.

Maj. Knox was preceded in death by his father, Robert Franklin Knox, and his mother, Eunice Dewell Knox, both formerly of Hampstead, N.H.; as well as his sister, Susan Knox MacVicar; his brother, Douglas Marshall Knox; and his son, Brian Knox.

Maj. Knox is survived by his wife, Jerre R. Knox, of Hubbard; his daughters, Leslie A. Knox of Hubbard, Kristen Knox Collins of Colchester, Conn.; his son, Stephen Knox, of Easton, Pa.; a stepson, Chris Daniel, of California; as well as a brother and sister, Robert F. Knox Jr. of New Hampshire and Nancy Noel of Massachusetts. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

SERVICES: A service with formal military honors will be held at the graveside at Lakeview Cemetery in Hampstead, N.H., on Friday, July 31, at 10 a.m.
