George Marcellies Seaton, the eldest son of Leonard R and Harriet Ann Seaton, was born in Jasper Co., July 22, 1861 and died in Millersburg, August 21, 1937. Aged 76 yrs and one month. All but seven years of his life were lived in Iowa County and for the past 37 years he has lived on a farm one mile southwest of Millersburg. He attended Hope Chapel and Millersburg Churches. He was married to Florence Fuller Feb. 6, 1883, who departed this life April 30, 1914. To this union four children were born: Nellie Humphrey of Deep River, Alva Seaton of Keswick, Elsie Dillin, a patient at the Mt Pleasant hospital, and Sadie of Millersburg. There is also left to mourn two brothers, Mack and Frank of Millersburg, 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many other relatives and host of friends. He died as he had lived, a loving father and a good neighbor. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Protestant church. Burial in Millersburg cemetery.
