Nathan was a 1975 graduate of Conneaut Lake High school and served in the U.S. Navy with the Seabees. He worked construction in the concrete industry his entire life and was responsible for the construction of many bridges and highway projects throughout the country. Nathan was an avid hunter and trapper and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Nathan is survived by his father and stepmother, Frank (Myrna) Thompson of Hartstown; a son, Michael (Pam) Thompson and a daughter, Rachel Thompson, both of Orange Park, Fla.; stepdaughters, Jeniveve Bent of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jenene Porter of Macclenny, Fla.; a brother, Steven (Wirtie) Thompson of Medina, Ohio; sisters, Susan (Darrell) Ivie of Jamestown and Melanie Thompson of Conneaut Lake; and loving companion, Barbie Powers.
Nathan was predeceased by his mother, Janice Thompson-Snyder; wife, Jenny Thompson; grandparents, Maynard and Gladys (Shafer) Durst, and Forrest and Hazel (Holland) Thompson; and a great-niece, Janice Faith Soros-Shirey.
A memorial service will be held at Hartstown Presbyterian Church on Thursday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Rachel Johns officiating.
Interment will follow in Hartstown Cemetery.
