Andy R. Jackson age 64 of New Boston died Tuesday May 16, 2006 at University Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. Services are 10:00 AM Saturday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 – 8 PM Friday at the funeral home where a memorial fund has been established. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

He was born May 28, 1941 in Aledo a son of Edwin and Muriel Reason Jackson. He graduated from New Boston High School and attended Western Illinois University. He married Ginger Diehl June 4, 1961 in Keithsburg.

Andy farmed in the New Boston area for 24 years and retired in 2003 from the H.J. Heinz Co. in Muscatine. He was a member of and former director of the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District.

He loved to trap shoot having been a member of the NRA and enjoyed traveling and fishing in Minnesota.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (Steve) Moseley of New Boston; a son Allen (Laura) Jackson of Chicago; 2 grandchildren Brandy and Dylan Webb of New Boston; a brother Joe Jackson of Joy, Il; 2 nephews Scott and Bradley Jackson and special friend Pam Morris of Muscatine, Iowa
