JOHANNA M. GLOE

Johanna M. Gloe (Nee Hartlich), of 3215 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers, took the hand of God and entered into Eternal Life, joining her husband, Archie and daughter, Shelley in Heaven on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, at the age of 86.

Johanna was born on March 31, 1923, in Wausau, to the late Rudi and Clara (Braumlich) Hartlich. She attended schools in Two Rivers, and was a graduate of Washington High School. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served her country during World War II, from Aug. 3, 1944, until honorably discharged on March 21, 1947. On July 2, 1949, she married Archie C. Gloe, Jr. in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1999. Johanna worked at St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc for many years, until her retirement, and she was involved in many activities. She loved attending and meeting her friends at the Two Rivers Senior Center, the Two Rivers Veterans Auxiliary and the Two Rivers Eagles Club. She enjoyed attending St. John's church services and social events with her nephew and his family, (private).

Her smile and kind ways brought sunlight to all who knew her and shared in her life. Johanna was a unique person, blessed with a generous spirit, a quick wit, sharp humor, a fun-loving nature and a deep devotion to her family and her God. She loved to laugh and share stories with her family & friends. Her family & friends can now take comfort in knowing that she is at peace in the loving care of our God.

She is beloved mother of Candice (Ronald) Erlien of Sheboygan; Carlyle Gloe and special friend: Cindy of Eden, N.C., and Sheri (Barry) Stangel of Milwaukee. Loving grandmother of (private). Great grandmother of (private). She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Norman Hartlich, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and her many near and dear friends, especially Jim. In addition
to her parents, husband, and her daughter, Shelley, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Hartlich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by members of the VFW and American Legion Post of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Thursday morning, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no visitation this evening.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, is assisting the Gloe family with funeral arrangements.

Our lives will be empty without her, but fuller and richer because of her. God Bless You Mom, we'll miss you.
