"Hyahwanah Cofer Cecil was born May 15, 1923, in a small town in Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 21, 2019, at Garnet Hill Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility in Wylie, Texas. Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Monday, June 24 from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 25 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens.

Hyahwanah was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack Cecil.

She is survived by three children, Lydia Ford of Lyons, Texas, Randy Cecil and wife Neva of Sachse, Texas, and Cynthia Siebert of Kilgore, Texas, four grandchildren, Theresia Woolsey of Lyons, Texas,
Shannon Miller and husband Monty of Kilgore, Texas, Toby Cecil and wife Krysta of Lubbock, Texas, and Todd Cecil and wife Amber of Sachse, Texas. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. They were all the light of her life and they loved her dearly.

She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Noland and Elizabeth James, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; a sister Mrs. Vinita Bennett, of Tyler, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

5he married the love of her life, Jack William Cecil, on August 31, 1940, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They were married for 64 years until his passing.

Hyahwanah was an active member in Texas Epsilon Delta Chapter of the Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority. She served as Woman of The Year in 1978. She also held the office of President as well many other titles throughout the years.

The family would like to express our gratitude to Heart to Heart Hospice Care and Garnet Hill for their devoted care to Mom."
