Solon S. Lee, 83, passed away at 3:30 a.m. today at his home, 820 East Washington Street, having been in failing health two years and seriously ill the past four weeks.
Mr. Lee was born March 16, 1859, in Boone County, Kentucky, the son of John and Ruth (Dearborn) Lee. On June 14, 1883, he was married to Lucy Hankins at Springhill. They had lived in Rush and Decatur counties since their marriage.
Surviving with the window are seven children: Mrs. Walter (Lillie) Land and Mrs. Frank (Gertie) Morgan, of Greensburg; Wilbur Lee and Mrs. Oscar (Jessie) Icenogle, of Rushville; Roy and Everett Lee and Mrs. Irvin (Gladys) Barber, of Rush county; 38 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Three children preceded their father: Maggie, Nora and Orville. Mr. Lee attended the Christian church.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Howe Funeral Home, where friends may call at any time. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.
