Ina Mae Bernard

Ina Mae Bernard, 81, Sheldon, was born July 25, 1924, in Stotesbury, to Warren and Katherine (Pointer) Brundige. She passed away June 30, 2006, in the Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada.

Ina and her family moved to Iowa where she attended Vanilla High School. During World War II, she worked for Michigan Piston Ring, then later she worked as a nurse's aide in hospitals and nursing homes.

Ina was a member of the Sheldon Baptist Church and a supporter of the Boy Scouts and many church activities.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Warren and Katherine; her husband, Leo Bernard; ex-husband, Jack Willis; one son, Brian Willis; and a brother, Donald Brundige.

Survivors include her children - Jerry and Bill - Sheldon, Jack - Osceola, Chole Mary Seelye - Amarillo, TX, Janice Murback - Houston, TX, and Sherry Young; three brothers - Robert Brundige - Erwin, IA, Kenneth, and wife, Sharon, Brundige - Erwin, IA, and Ray Brundige - Erwin, IA; one sister, Betty Scott - Placentia, CA; and15 grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, July 5, in the Sheldon Chapel, Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, with Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating.

Burial was in the Fort Scott National Cemetery under the direction of Sheldon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Rev. Jerod Lamb, Joshua Lamb, Jack Gardner and Tim Mooney.
