Roy Hugh Dale died peacefully on July 8, 2015 in McKinney, Texas. He was born September 13, 1926 in Winona, Texas to Elbert Clyde and Augusta Nolan Dale. Roy grew up on their farm in Winona, eventually getting into sales with the Wm.Cameron Company. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Annette Waldrop, in Wichita Falls. They married on May 12, 1956, in Abilene, Texas. He was a businessman and spent his life in the building materials industry. Roy retired as a partner at Dallas Wholesale Builders Supply after twenty-five years. In 1982, Roy opened McKinney Lumber as a family business. He worked with McKinney Lumber until his health declined, but he never lost interest in the business or employees. Roy was a member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney and a member of the McKinney Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved going to his farm in Buffalo, Texas where he raised cattle.

Roy is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Annette; daughter, Nancy Dale Shaw of Richardson; sons, Hugh Dale and wife Tami of Frisco, Jeff Dale and wife Christi of Fairview; seven grandchildren, Carly Dale Shaw of Richardson, Cara Annette Shaw, Amanda Dale of Frisco, Drew and
Samantha Dale of Frisco, Annie and Sadie Dale of Fairview and brother, Richard Dale and wife Pat of Belton, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Augusta Dale, sister Edda Lee Mullins and brother James Monroe Dale.

A memorial service celebrating Roy’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of McKinney, 315 North Church Street, McKinney, Texas. A reception will follow.
