Marcus Edwards was born March 4, 1977 in Ocilla, Georgia to Shirley Edwards and William Lampkin.

As the first and only grandchild for several years, Marcus became a special “family child” with many loving and devoted relatives contributng to his care and upbringing. He loved to spend time helping his grandfather, Deacon Alfred Edwards, Sr. who fondly remembers him saying so many times, “’Alright, Pop, what you want did now?”

He joined St. Phillips Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Tommy Washington. He was a member of the Usher Board.

He attended Irwin County High School and graduated in 1996 and in September of that year he joined the United States Navy.

Marcus enjoyed playing basketball and a little bit of pool.

He departed his life on April 17, 2010.

He leaves to cherish his memories his two sons:
Antravious Ellis of Norfolk Virginia; Marcus Edwards, Jr. of Ocilla, Georgia;
one daughter: Tatiyana Edwards of Fitzgerald, Georgia;
a special friend: Franeisa Grace of Rochelle, Georgia;
mother: Shirley Edwards of Ocilla, Georgia;
father: William Lampkin of Suffolk, Virginia;
two brothers: Eric Edwards, Sr. of Ocilla, Georgia;
Sayvione Terrell Edwards of Ocilla, Georgia;
two sisters: Kasha Edwards of Ocilla, Georgia and Jada Lampkin of Suffolk, Virginia;
grandparents: Alfred & Virginia Edwards of Ocilla, Georgia and
Robert & Lucille Lampkin of Ocilla, Georgia;
two aunts: Anese Edwards of Jersey City, New Jersey and
Connie Lampkin of Ocilla, Georgia;
seven uncles: Alfred Edwards, Jr. of Ocilla, Georgia;
Winfred & Melody Edwards of Fitzgerald, Georgia;
